Paso Robles Harvest

Harvest season is here in sunny Paso Robles, California! After a long hot summer, it is so sweet to see the fruit thriving and being collected from the vine, thankful for this season’s warmth.

While I ALWAYS appreciate a good glass of Paso wine, I am not a vineyard expert, so I won’t pretend I am. I do have the fortunate opportunity though, of spending a great deal of time riding horses through the vineyards of Cass Winery with Central Coast Trailrides. Grapes are a funny crop. They grow when nothing else should, and come to life right as the triple digit heat of the north county brings it’s thunder. It is such a beautiful God-given joy to watch the vineyard processes, to watch the dormant winter branches bud, and slowly grow cluster upon cluster of lush fruit all summer long.

Thankfully, I get to grow alongside the vines. I get to better myself as a photographer with the vineyards as my backdrop, better myself as a horsewoman as I navigate them in all seasons.

This harvest season is a reminder to take a minute and appreciate the special Central Coast pocket I call home.

To acknowledge the magnificence of the grape vines and the labors and laborers that go in to and tend them.

And yes, to appreciate the source of the BEST wines around.
